Mission Statement

Our mission is to create a vibrant business district by initiating private and public improvements, promoting commerce, and supporting efforts to improve the quality of life for all who live, work and do business in East Boston.

Background

East Boston Main Streets began in the fall of 1995 with the goal of revitalizing the neighborhood business district of Maverick and Central Squares. EBMS is a non-profit organization made up of business people, property owners and residents which evolved out of the East Boston Chamber of Commerce. Our goal is to revitalize East Boston's traditional commercial corridor by capitalizing on our unique historical, cultural, and architectural assets. By building a broad coalition of business owners and residents, and improving our economic base, we have the basis for a successful long-term strategy for improving the future of our business district.
