East Boston Countdown To Kindergarten A Great Start!
On Friday September 7th, 2007, East Boston Main Streets held its 8th Annual Countdown to Kindergarten Parade.

East Boston, MA, 14-Sep-2007 — East Boston Main Streets (EBMS) partnered with the Countdown to Kindergarten staff, Boston Main Streets, the East Boston Social Center, YMCA, Little Folks and Head Start programs to treat over 175 children to a day filled with fun and gifts. Through the generosity of more than 40 local businesses and organizations every child starting kindergarten were given a new back pack and school supplies. Volunteers and donations, too numerous to mention, from all across the community helped to make this day successful and provided a positive start to education for East Boston youngsters.

Special thanks to this year’s parade marshals Karen Clauson, Isabel Velasquez and Ann Marie Scopa. The marshals were chosen for their work as pre-kindergarten caretakers to all the children in East Boston. Thanks again too all who helped make this years parade a success.
