East Boston Main Streets (EBMS) announces 10th annual Countdown to Kindergarten Parade!
On Friday September 10, 2010, East Boston Main Streets will hold its 10th Annual Countdown to Kindergarten Parade.

East Boston, MA, 10-Aug-2010 — East Boston Main Streets along with the Boston Public Schools Countdown to Kindergarten staff, Boston Main Streets, the East Boston Social Center, YMCA, Little Folks and Head Start programs, Boston Police and MBTA will host the 10th Annual Countdown to Kindergarten parade.

With the help of many groups and individuals and the generosity of local merchants every child in East Boston who is entering Kindergarten will receive a back pack filled with school supplies and will enjoy a festive day designed to provide a positive experience as they begin their education.

Beginning in Central Square at 10:45 AM Parade marshals Lorraine Clougherty, Donna Concannon, Ellie Blackstad and Dora Hijuita, who are the caretakers from the children’s preschools, will march with the children and their parents along Meridian Street to receive school supplies.
