Volunteers and Businesses Prescription for Success at 15th Annual Boston Main Streets Awards
On Thursday June 9, 2011, Mayor Menino praised local volunteers and businesses at the 15th Annual Boston Main Streets Awards, hosted by the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. .

East Boston, MA, 20-Apr-2011 — The 15th Annual Boston Main Streets Awards were hosted by the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. For the fifth year the Master of Ceremonies was WGBH radio host Ron Della Chiesa who spoke eloquently about the local Main Street programs.

Mayor Thomas Menino and DND Chief and Director Evelyn Friedman presented awards to the Volunteers and Businesses in all 19 Main Streets Districts.

East Boston Main Streets would like to congratulate the Volunteer of the Year, Ms Beda Sajquim. Beda is a resident and mother of two who has volunteered at Main Streets for the last 7 Years.

The Business of the year went to Mr. Tony Portillo owner of Star Service Corporation and BYN Graphics on Meridian Street. Mr. Portillo is an active local business owner who has supported East Boston Main Streets efforts for the past 6 years.
